Permaculture has a Major Pedagogy Problem

Permaculture has a Major Pedagogy Problem

Permaculture has a major pedagogy problem.

Many big-name permaculture courses rely on "celebrity" for legitimacy, replicating business-as-usual in their teaching practices, when they could be creating a classroom that prefigures permaculture principles & centers marginalized experiences.

This has to stop.

As educators, facilitators, and ecological designers, our pedagogy prefigures and belies our values. Permaculture educators who cannot facilitate the classroom-as-a-world that embodies earth care, people care, and fair share, cannot be trusted to teach others how to design a next world that does.
