Welcome! & FAQ

Welcome, or welcome back! Let’s Re-Story the World

I’m so glad you’re here. This website is the hub of all of the work, professional and creative, that I do and offer in the world - and hopefully, in support of you and your communities.

Here, you’ll find you'll find my Edible Garden Design & Coaching services, my Poetry & Public Speaking offerings, and an Online Video Course Library for organic gardeners, permaculture farmers, design-thinking practitioners, and pragmatic future visionaries alike. You’ll also find links to my primary business right now, Next World Design and Facilitation, where I offer Group Facilitation, Professional Training, & Design-Process Coaching services. It's aimed at progressive leaders & teams, and offers content and process specialties in needs- & values-based design, ecological group systems theory, and narrative futures design, all in support of social impact oriented, liberation and justice seeking companies, organizations, companies, collectives, and individuals.

You’ll also find two shops, a Book & Craft Shop, where you can buy my poetry chapbook, 'zines, & craft / art, and a Thrift & Vintage Shop, where you can get farmhouse, artsy & vintage home goods and clothing. To me, sustainability and resilient design happen across the board, including in our everyday objects and activities. Reuse, adaptation, and creativity are a huge part of how we craft a more just and thriving world, and literally re-cycling and redistributing the amazing objects we already have in the world, rather than manufacturing new ones, is a great way to practice the world we need, now (and keep things out of landfills AND save your bank account, while you’re at it). Join me in my cheap vintage obsession - aesthetic beauty isn’t frivolous, it’s part of how we craft our habitats, as well as how we care for our ecology!

And now, for some Frequently Asked Questions!

My business and its many woven web strands have been through a lot of iterations over the last 2.5 years, as the pandemic, my own health and disabilities (and the ableism running rampant in the world around them), and the natural prototype testing of a new venture all collided repeatedly. I’m continuing to iterate to seek a business model that truly supports me, my clients and community (that’s you!), and the world I’m seeking to co-create.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Do you still offer one-on-one life design coaching? Yes! Click here to book a free 30-min zoom session / learn more about how I work and what packages might be a good fit.

Can my company or organization hire you to lead a training or facilitate a group process? Absolutely. Group facilitation and training is where both my highest passion and my deepest skill set unite. I adapt my facilitation across a wide range of content areas, a few of which you can learn about here. But whatever your focus, I'm excited to support, please reach out and set up a time for a free 30-min chat to get started, or book a workshop directly using this form.

What happened to Index For The Next World (I4NW)? It's alive! It's hanging out in its chrysallis, half-napping, half-metamorphosing (all goo!) I4NW has shifted from being the umbrella / hub of my business/work, to being one arm of it - an arm that focuses on artistic and literary visions and practices that immerse us in and prefigure a thriving next world, now. This may in future include writing and arts workshops, online courses, mentorship groups, as well as more issues of the "magazine" - who knows what colors will emerge as those new wings develop. In the meantime, you can still read the original issue here and enjoy some brilliant next-world artists and creations.

And you can find the hub of all my offerings at www.racheleconomy.com

Okay, but what happened to the I4NW subscriber village? Great question. It grew into a few things - a youtube channel that is also in the midst of metamorphosis, a library of online courses that is still growing, and my newsletter! While this month's newsletter is quite link-heavy and announcement-rich, I'm setting a goal of sending (only slightly) more frequent newsletters so that I can leave social media almost entirely, and including some more free video and written community content in them, from foraging to gardening to design-thinking. It's also possible that a platform-based community will arise once again as part of the Rachel Economy / Re-Story the World spiderweb, and when it does, y'all will be the first to hear.

Thanks for being here! Going forward, you can find more topical and educational, as well as poetic and artistic, blog posts here. Please comment below with any questions, or grab a free video call with me to consult, collaborate, or cocreate a plan for working together to support your next world dreams becoming a reality!
